Is this a physical game that will be shipped?

MIND YOUR X’S is a digital printable game. This edition includes PDF downloads; no physical game, printed cards or pre-cut tokens are shipped.

What files are included?

The released package contains four PDFs, nine pages total: 00_START_HERE_v1.0.pdf (2 pages), 01_PLAYER_BOARD_v1.0.pdf (1), 02_HOST_ONLY_9_CARDS_v1.0.pdf (5) and 03_CUTOUT_XO_TOKENS_v1.0.pdf (1). There are nine challenges and ten optional pieces: five X and five O.

Where should we start, and who plays?

Open 00_START_HERE_v1.0.pdf and go to page 2, “How to Claim Your Square.” Choose one nonplaying host and split the players into Team X and Team O. Team X starts. Use one shared board and a timer.

What supplies do I need?

For printed play, supply your own printer, paper, timer and marking supplies. Scissors are needed if you choose the optional cut-out pieces. You can write marks on the board instead.

Should players see the host cards or answers?

Keep the host-only cards and answers with the nonplaying host while teams answer. After an answer, the host may reveal the accepted response and read the optional host line. There are no steals or negative points.

How does a turn work? Do card numbers match squares?

The active team chooses an empty square. The host reads the next unused card in order. Card numbers tell you the reading order; they are not board-square numbers. A correct answer earns the team’s mark in its chosen square.

What happens after a wrong answer or timeout?

Leave the chosen square empty. That card is used, and the other team takes its turn. After a correct answer, mark the chosen square; that card is also used and play passes to the other team.

When does the round end? Is there a tenth challenge?

Three marks across, down or diagonally wins; stop as soon as a team wins. Otherwise stop after card 9, even if a square remains empty. With no line there is no winner in that round; a full board without a line is a draw. Ten tokens do not mean ten challenges.

Do I have to cut out the pieces? What should I cut?

No. You may write marks on the board instead. If using pieces, cut around the ten dashed circles on the token sheet; do not make tiny cuts around crowns or chains. Keep the board and host sheets whole. Remove the pieces after the round to use them again.

What paper size and token print setting should I use?

This edition is US Letter. The token sheet says to print single-sided at Actual Size / 100% and check that its scale line measures one inch before cutting. Its nominal circles are 1.25 inches across. Actual print scale, clipping and token fit have not been physically verified.

Is there an A4, editable or fillable version?

This edition includes US Letter PDFs that are non-editable and non-fillable. An A4 or other alternative edition is not confirmed.

How quickly will I receive a reply?

A response or resolution time has not been confirmed, so I cannot promise a deadline.
