So… What Have I Been Building? 🧱

Ayeee, it’s been a minute lol.

The last time I wrote here, I said I was building my own table. Since then, I’ve been over here working on Road to Da Lat, making short videos, building little tools, and studying AI governance one question at a time. I figured it was time to come back and tell y’all what I’ve been up to.

One of my practice questions started with something simple. A customer fills out a form and sees a message saying their request was sent. Okay, cool. But did it reach the right inbox? Did anybody actually look at it? And if the customer hits Try again, is the business about to get two copies of the same request?

See how one little question turns into a whole afternoon? Lol.

It took me back to my collections days. I used to keep my scripts and note templates in Notepad before I started using Excel. If somebody picked up a case after me, they needed to know what had already happened and what they still had to do. I’m using that same habit now when I test how a customer request gets from a form to a person who can help.

Then there’s the drainage quote tool I’ve been playing with privately. I made up a few bids and put them side by side. One looked cheaper until I got to the part about the yard. Who’s replacing the sod after they dig it up? Is that in the price? And what does that warranty actually cover? I wanted those questions to be easy to spot, especially if you’re comparing quotes on your phone.

And y’all know I’m still making time for the creative side. I left a comment on a YouTube video about the everyday moments that make a place feel real. Ralph replied with a story about running into Jubril while he was out getting bánh mì in Da Nang. I loved that. That’s the kind of little detail I want to make room for in Road to Da Lat, too.

So yeah, I’ve been busy laying bricks. I’m still figuring things out as I go. Lately, when I finish something, I’ve been asking myself one more question before I move on. What did I actually check?

Sometimes the answer is, “Girl, go back and check it again.” And there goes my next brick. 🧱💜
